Christopher Colombus Tour
Get ready to discover the misterious life of Christopher Colombus. Wew will see the place where the ship “La Niña” was built, the shipbuilders of Sevilla. Then, we will visit the monastery where he planned the first trip to America, and there we will see his first tomb in Sevilla. The botanic garden of this place is full of exotic trees. For example the oldest tree in the city was planted there by the second son of colombus. Today the tree is 520 years old. Our driver Pamela will take us to Palos de la Frontera, 45 minutes by car, that is where Colombus departured to America in 1492 with the three ships “La Pinta”, “La Niña” and “Santa María”. There we will visit the replicas of the three of them and the monastery where colombus stayed a long time. Finally our driver will take us back to the Gardens of Murillo, where the beautiful monument dedicated to Colombus is located. From there we will get to the Cathedral, the final destination of our trip. There we find the fifh tomb of the saylor . . . or maybe not?
Itinerary:
We will drive from your place to Palos de la Frontera where Colombus departured from in 1492 (1 hour drive). There , we will see the replicas of the three ships, “La Pinta”, “La Niña” and “La Santa María”. Very close is the Monastery where Colombus stayed a long time before leaving to America, “Monasterio de la Rábida”. Then, we will drive back to Sevilla and make a break to have a tapa and a drink. We will finish the tour visiting the Cathedral of Sevilla where the last tomb of Christopher Colombus is.
